The Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police questioned actor Jacqueline Fernandez for over eight hours on Wednesday in a 200 crore extortion case. She arrived at the probe agency’s Mandir Marg headquarters at 11.30 a.m. and left just before 8 p.m. The matter is tied to the conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, and the Enforcement Directorate is also looking into it (ED).

According to Special Commissioner of Police (Crime), Ravindra Yadav, Fernandez was questioned about her alleged role in the multi-crore money laundering case tied to Chandrashekhar, as well as the gifts she received from him, among other things. Nora Fatehi and Pinky Irani, the actresses who reportedly introduced Fernandez to Chandrashekhar, have been asked to appear in court tomorrow.

The ED is looking into the money trail in the 200 crore extortion case against the conman and listed Jacqueline Fernandez as an accused in its chargesheet last month. Chandrashekhar is currently imprisoned on charges of defrauding numerous people, including high-profile persons such as former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh’s wife Aditi Singh.

The investigation agency alleged that Ms Fernandez was aware of Sukesh’s involvement in criminal cases and that he was married, but she decided to ignore the facts and engage in financial transactions with him. According to the chargesheet, Jacqueline Fernandez acknowledged to accepting five watches, 20 pieces of jewellery, 65 pairs of shoes, 47 outfits, 32 purses, 4 Hermes bags, nine paintings, and 1 Versace crockery set as gifts from the conman.
