Actor Kamaal R Khan, popularly known as KRK, was detained on Tuesday, according to the police, for reportedly posting disparaging tweets about deceased celebrities Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan in 2020 as comments on his YouTube channel. According to officials, Khan, who was detained at the Mumbai airport, would appear before a magistrate court in Borivali later today.

One of Kamaal R Khan’s trademarks is his controversial tweets. After a charge was filed against KRK for his social media attacks on Irrfan and Rishi Kapoor in 2020, he was taken into custody. KRK was the subject of a lookout notice, followed by filing an FIR against him in 2020. The complaint was filed by Yuva Sena member Rahul Kanal. He will be presented today, August 30, at 11 p.m. in Borivali court. He was detained in accordance with IPC Sections 153A, 294, 500, 501, 505, 67, and 98.

Kanal had complained to the Bandra police. As a result, another FIR was filed at the Bandra police station in May 2020. According to the charges, Kamaal R Khan made disparaging remarks about the late actor Rishi Kapoor while he was receiving medical attention in a hospital. He also sent hateful tweets to actor Irrfan Khan while recuperating from an illness.

Khan has 1 million subscribers on YouTube and 5.1 million followers on Twitter. He has also appeared on the reality TV program Bigg Boss. He is a film critic who has gained notoriety for his divisive tweets about Bollywood actors. Kamaal R Khan frequently makes news because of his outspoken criticism of Bollywood.
