It appears that things are just getting more complicated for Kamaal R Khan, better known by his stage name KRK. The self-described critic was recently detained for tweeting offensive messages on the late Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan. Versova Police grabbed Kamaal’s custody from jail on Saturday. A 27-year-old actress and fitness model filed a FIR about it in the middle of 2021. The self-described critic harassed her by calling her to his home in Mumbai, according to the complaint made under Indian Penal Code sections 354 A (sexual harassment) and 509 (word, act, or gesture intended to degrade a woman’s modesty).
The complainant claims that she met KRK at a party in 2017 and that they exchanged phone numbers. He allegedly identified himself as a producer and promised her a part in Captain Nawab, a movie starring Emraan Hashmi. He even made some sexual comments about her while talking on the phone, according to her.
Following that, KRK allegedly extended an invitation to her to attend his birthday party at his home in Mumbai. She visited his bungalow the other day of the same week even though she didn’t go to his party that day. According to the complainant, he attempted to have s*x with her that day while also drugging her with orange juice and flashing her. She managed to escape the scene and told a friend about what happened.
Complaint
The complainant kept quiet for two years before deciding to file a lawsuit against KRK in the middle of 2021. He was detained by the Versova Police in connection with the same and appeared yesterday before a magistrate court in Bandra. He is currently being held in judicial detention for 14 days.
