The National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched raids on gangs and crime syndicates in 60 locations throughout India on Monday. Delhi, the National Capital Region, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab are among the 60 localities.

The NIA is investigating after the Delhi Police Special Cell filed two FIRs under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against ten gangsters from the Lawrence Bishnoi, Bambiha, and Neeraj Bawana gangs. This comes only one day after Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that there is a solid link between terror organizations and the culprits detained in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case. He claimed that the ISI was taking advantage of this link.

According to the NIA report, Neeraj Sehrawat and his gang are involved in targeted killings of renowned people, as well as spreading terror on social media. According to reports, Neeraj Bawana and his group are also currently engaging in a gang battle with Lawrence Bishnoi. Further, Neeraj Bawana announced hours after the murder of Punjabi singer-politician Sidhu Moose Wala that they would avenge the singer’s death and take action against the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Targeting Gangs

The NIA searches are being carried out to target gangs operating from within Indian and foreign prisons. According to the FIR, the Special Cell obtained evidence that Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldie Brar, Vikram Brar, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Sandeep, Sachin Thapan, and Anmol Bishnoi are operating gangs from different jails in the nation and overseas in Canada, Pakistan, and Dubai.

According to the FIR, Lawrence Bishnoi is also close to Khalistani terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda, who is thought to be in Pakistan. Another UAPA FIR implicated members of the Bambiha gang, a rival to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Lucky Patial, who operates from Armenia, Kaushal Chaudhary, who is imprisoned in Haryana, and Neeraj Bawana, who is imprisoned in Tihar.
