Ola Electric revealed a few images of what could be its first-ever all-electric car for the Indian market a few weeks ago. On the occasion of Diwali, the Indian start-up released a few images of the interior of its first electric vehicle. Along with the interior, Ola Electric included a glimpse of the car’s outside in the video, which the startup shared on its social media accounts.

When it comes to the interior of this forthcoming electric vehicle, the overall layout and visible cabin parts make it appear incredibly futuristic. Though this teaser is brief, it does show a few highlights that are verified to be included in the production model.

A two-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with a squared form, an octagonal center boss, and backlit controls are among the cabin’s highlights. This forthcoming car from Ola Electric features a free-standing rectangular fully-digital instrument console behind the steering wheel, as well as a strip of ambient lighting that spans the width of the dashboard.

The rest of the dashboard is sleek and devoid of visual excitement, with thin AC vents and a huge rectangular touchscreen entertainment system occupying the center console. The absence of any other physical controls on the center console suggests that all of the car’s controls, including the climate control, will be housed within the infotainment system, as seen in Tesla vehicles.

What’s notable this time is that the teaser depicted it as a crossover-like vehicle, as opposed to the previous teaser’s low-slung sedan. This car has an elevated posture and a slightly upright windscreen, which indicates that it is a crossover rather than a sedan. Ola Electric is also said to be working on two separate designs, one sedan, and one crossover.

A minimalist front fascia with smooth-looking air intakes on the front bumper, a large LED light bar over the width of the bonnet, and an illuminated Ola logo in the center are among the other visual elements of the exterior of Ola’s future all-electric car. The car has horizontally stacked LED projectors within compact-looking housings on the corners. Instead of rearview mirrors, this vehicle has small cameras installed on the A-pillar.

Ola Electric plans to deliver this vehicle in 2024, positioning it as a luxury offering with a starting price of Rs 25 lakh. This vehicle will have a 70-80 kWh battery and a range of more than 500 kilometers.

The glass top, smart driver aid, and other modern safety features will be included in Ola’s electric vehicle. It will be built at the company’s FutureFactory in Krishnagiri, which already produces Ola’s S1Pro and S1 electric scooters. While formal pricing confirmation is still pending, we anticipate the Ola EV to be priced around Rs 20 lakh.

Ola said earlier this year that it will enter the driverless vehicle market in India. With its next electric vehicle, the business hopes to enter the autonomous driving industry. According to Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, this capability is being developed to compete with Tesla and Rivian.

Ola Electric Mobility is a Bengaluru-based Indian producer of electric two-wheelers. The manufacturing facility of the company is located in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, India. Ola Electric, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ANI Technologies, which also owns Ola Cabs, was launched in 2017.

In May 2017, Nagpur launched a trial initiative by installing charging stations throughout the city and purchasing electric taxis, e-buses, and e-rickshaws from OEM partners to minimize pollution and fuel reliance on Ola’s cabs and transition to mainstream electric mobility. In April 2018, it stated that it intends to have 1 million electrified vehicles in its taxi fleet by 2022.
