After declaring a fourfold increase in sales over the Navratra season, Electric Vehicle (EV) unicorn Ola Electric is planning to launch a new variant of its S1 e-scooter series around Diwali, the firm said on Thursday. According to the source, the new S1 model will be priced under Rs 80,000, which is said to be the cheapest pricing range to date. The remaining two-wheelers in the series cost more than Rs 99,999.

Bhavish Aggarwal, the company’s Co-founder, and CEO tweeted on Thursday morning, “Planning something BIG for our debut event this month!” Will add at least two years to the #EndICEAge revolution.”

We have big plans for our premiere event this month! Will add at least two years to the #EndICEAge revolt.

According to the source, the debut of this e-scooter is one of the announcements the Ola CEO is expected to make in the days leading up to the festival. Furthermore, because it will run on Ola’s proprietary MoveOS platform, this line of e-scooters is likely to maintain the majority of the features of the earlier S1 models.

Ola Electric, which is owned by ANI Technologies, has been rapidly expanding in recent months. The company recently announced the establishment of its first experience center in Chennai, with plans to establish 200 such locations around the country by March 2023.
