The Indian Association of Physiotherapists has denied reports that jailed Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain received physiotherapy and has requested an apology for “degrading physiotherapy.” This comes after Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia stated on Saturday that the viral CCTV video of Satyendar Jain enjoying a full-body massage was “treatment for injuries.”
On Saturday morning, a CCTV video of Satyendar Jain receiving a full-body massage in Tihar Jail surfaced on social media, two days after the Bharatiya Janata Party demanded that he be released from prison (BJP). Sisodia accused the BJP of leaking the CCTV footage. He said that “physiotherapy” was required due to a spinal ailment.
The Indian Association of Physiotherapists took to Twitter on Saturday to criticize the Minister “IAP strongly rejects the minister’s statement comparing physiotherapy to massage given to another minister. This demonstrates their degree of education and expertise in our wonderful profession.”
In a video, the association’s president denounced the minister and demanded an apology from him.
PRO on incident
Earlier on Saturday, the former Tihar jail PRO stated that it couldn’t be physiotherapy taken by Satyendar Jain. This is because the footage plainly showed co-inmates massaging him. Sunil Gupta, former PRO of the Tihar Prison, told sources that the video clearly shows other detainees massaging the minister.
The minister is seen lying on his bed, reading papers, as a man sitting next to him massages his foot. This is all captured in the alleged CCTV footage from September 13.
