Raju Srivastava, a popular stand-up comedian, died at the age of 58. On August 10, he suffered a sudden heart attack and was transported to AIIMS Delhi. The actor was promptly transferred to the intensive care unit and placed on life support. He was unconscious for more than 40 days and, despite physicians’ attempts, his condition continued to deteriorate even days after he suffered a heart attack. Doctors revealed that he had suffered brain damage as a result of the heart attack. According to hospital authorities, he died at around 10:20 a.m. on September 21.
“I received a call from the family about a half-hour ago informing me that he was no longer alive. This is very sad news. He has been fighting for over 40 days in the hospital, “according to Dipoo Srivastava.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called Raju Srivastava’s wife Shikha to ask about her husband’s health and show their support.
Born Satya Prakash Srivastava on December 25, 1963, he adopted the stage name, Raju. Because of his popular acts, he was frequently referred to as Gajodhar. Raju, the president of Kanpur and a member of a middle-class family, has always aspired to be a comic.
He began his career as a stand-up comedian by competing in the talent show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, where he finished second runner-up. Following that, he competed in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge-Champion and was crowned “The King of Comedy.”
Raju Srivastava has performed in India as well as overseas. He also appeared in Bollywood films such as Rajshri Productions’ Maine Pyar Kiya and other notable films such as Baazigar and Bombay to Goa. He belonged to Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya.
Raju earned popularity after appearing in Bigg Boss Season 3 and Nach Baliye Season 6. He has also been on Kapil Sharma’s Comedy Nights. His wife Shikha and their children Antara and Ayushman survive him.
