According to her brother Rinku Dhaka, Sonali Phogat’s accused killers lured her to Goa under the pretense of filming a movie, but there was no scheduled filming, indicating they brought her to kill her. He claimed that although the hotel was only reserved for August 21–22, the family knew that the shooting would take place on August 24.

BJP leader Phogat, well-known on social media, is believed to have died of a heart attack, but a preliminary post-mortem test found that she had severe blunt force injuries throughout her body.

She had no intention of visiting Goa. Her visit was part of a pre-arranged plot. There was no filming. The reservation included two hotel rooms for only two days. According to Dhaka, although the filming was meant to take place on August 24, the rooms were only reserved for August 21–22.

Dhaka accused Phogat’s PA Sudhir Sangwan and his friend Sukhwinder of raping and killing her. He claimed that after drugging her, the two had raped her. Dhaka claimed on Wednesday to have observed blue stains on the body that suggested poisoning. Goa Police detained her and also opened a murder case.

Investigation

A murder case filed at the Anjuna Police Station targets two people. The situation is still under investigation. OS Bishnoi, Inspector General of Police, Goa, told ANI that the deceased’s brother had mentioned the involvement of her assistant and another individual.

As for investigating the death of actor Sonali Phogat, Goa Forward Party MLA Vijai Sardesai aimed at the BJP-led state administration on Thursday. She allegedly passed away from a heart attack yesterday. The post-mortem reports revealed several blunt force injuries. It demonstrates the Chief Minister’s penchant for jumping the gun and giving the all-clear. This incident damages Goa’s reputation, according to Sardesai.

Phogat ran in the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections but lost to Kuldeep Bishnoi of the Congress, who switched to the BJP earlier this year. Days before she passed away, she declared that she would maintain her claim to the Bishnoi constituency of Adampur.
